I am extremely blessed to live amongst such hospitable and curious people. Everyone here yearns to explore how God's Word meets us in our day-to-day, and we are gifted with opportunities to experience that love in a variety of ways.

The youth here at the Lutheran Church of Mahomet give me such life and hope for our faith's future. Every day, they come with a smile on their face, questions on their lips, and inclusivity in their hearts. Our young people contribute to the spiritual development of our community in unique and invaluable ways!

Biography

Installed: July 12, 2015
I grew up in Becker, MN – in the same house and Lutheran congregation in which my mom was raised – with my mom, dad, and sister. Growing up, I was very involved with music and ice hockey. I graduated from Becker High School and then attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, earning a B.A. in Art History and a minor in Classical Studies. Also, while attending Concordia, I met my wife, Maggie.
Maggie and I both attended Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) in Berkeley, CA. I completed my Clinical Pastoral Education at Eventide in Moorhead, MN, a senior-living center, and served as vicar at Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto, CA. My wife and I graduated from PLTS in May 2015 with M.Div. degrees and we have since been ordained in the ELCA.
To Illinois, we bring along our furry friend, Cee Lo, who is a pug/beagle mix adopted from Fargo, ND. In my spare time, I love to read, woodwork, play euphonium/tuba, and explore used bookstores. I cannot be more thrilled and blessed to be a part of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod and the ministry of the Lutheran Church of Mahomet.
