The resurrection of Christ is perhaps the greatest event celebrated in the Christian tradition, rivaled only by Christ’s birth. Having concluded the season of Lent, we follow Christ’s story to betrayal on Maundy Thursday, to the Cross on Good Friday, and to the Tomb on Holy Saturday. It is here that we pick up for the vigil service. Many people have not heard of this vital part of Holy Week, and so we’re going to take some time to look at some of the service’s ins and outs.
