LCM Parish Nurses

Picture
Parish nurses are members of the ministry team of the church whose major goal is to reflect God’s love through professional and personal caring and confidentiality. Their ministry focuses on the body, mind, and spirit.

They can:
  •     Help you find answers to your general health questions
  •     Help you make arrangements with a health or social service agency, should the need arise.
  •     Give support to you and your family during times of illness.
  •     Coordinate health education and awareness programs within the church utilizing church members and qualified community providers.

They cannot:
  •     Do nursing procedures such as giving baths, injections, or medications, but they can direct you to an agency that can.
  •     Be your health care provider or pastor, but they can listen and direct you to appropriate services.
  •     Make your health problems disappear, but they may be able to help you better understand your health problem, diet, or medication. They are able to listen and let you know that they care.
